Part Time Maths Teacher
Hassockfield STC currently looks after 58 Young People both Male and Female aged between 12 and 17 years.
The centre opened in 1999 and is operated by Serco Home Affairs Ltd. The majority of Young People accommodated in the centre are serving a Detention Training Order; however a number of young people are on remand
Overview of Role:
Working 19.5 hours per week your primary job role will be to develop, administer and deliver all aspects of the Maths course in line with the awarding body specification.
Teaching within a Secure Training Centre can be a challenging but rewarding experience and this is an exciting opportunity to make a difference.
You must have recent experience, and appropriate knowledge, of teaching Maths and you must possess a QTS Status in Maths Secondary Education up to and including GCSE & A Level.
You will have experience of working in an environment that demands strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines.
Due to the nature of the environment applicants should appreciate that they will be working in a secure facility and that Serco Ltd is exempt from the Rehabilitation Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. All offers of employment are subject to Home Office approval.
