Business Development Manager - Business Growth Manager

This is an extremely successful multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in social residential new build regeneration and refurbishment operating nationally employing almost 60 staff from the head office near Huddersfield.

Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within, and help in the continuing development of, a well-established and successful Business Development Team. This is a key role for an experienced and self-motivated professional with excellent technical and relationship skills as part of the company’s succession planning and development vision.

Initially the role includes researching, building and developing new or existing business networks which will result in enquiries, tenders and negotiated work opportunities; where opportunities require technical writing skills we expect the successful applicant to be able to generate these from first principles developing their outputs to align with the company’s quality standards and style.

Ultimately, over a period of five to ten years the business envisage the role would widen to progressively release an existing Associate Director for retirement.

Experience and Qualifications essential for the role:

A strong business development background in social housingThe ability to produce innovative, client specific proposals and write technical responses to tender questions relating to various professional disciplinesExperience of consultant and contractor led services to the social housing sectorExcellent research skills with an eye for opportunityIT proficiency, particularly MS Word, MS PowerPoint along with working knowledge of MS Excel and MS AccessConstruction or marketing related qualifications or similar evidence of competence within our sector.

The candidate will:

Be currently working with an organisation that responds to tenders and other commercial competitionsBe commercially astute.Have responsibility for developing client networksHave the ability to understand social housing terminology, delivery methods and the current issues influencing our sectorBe a strong and highly articulate communicator in both written and verbal forms Have the ability to work to very tight deadlinesBe flexible to new and or different methods of working

This opportunity comes with a salary to £45,000pa + car allowance plus full benefits package.
