Assistant Director of Estates Development

Reporting to the Director of Estate Development, the Assistant Director of Estate Development will lead a team in the delivery of a diverse range of estate development schemes across the University’s estate portfolio. This will include new build developments, refurbishment and alteration projects and major long term maintenance programmes.You will play a key role in ensuring the University’s development programme is delivered to the highest standards.Key responsibilities include leadership of consultants and external delivery partners, development of project processes, determination of procurement strategies and strategy planning and programme management.

The successful candidate will have significant relevant experience in a project and programme leadership role with responsibility for procuring and managing major capital projects up to, and in excess, of £25m in value.You will have strong commercial acumen, with proven comparable scale budgetary and supply chain management experience.Responsible for leading an internal team of Project Managers and Building Services Engineers, as well as a diverse external supply chain of delivery partners, it is essential that the appointed candidate possesses excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with a highly motivated and client-focused disposition.
