Systems Analyst

Our client is an engineering company that manufacture, service and design a wide spectrum of rotating equipment for the oil and gas, refining, LNG, petrochemical and other process and power industries.An excellent opportunity has become available to join as a Systems Analyst. The successful candidate will support and develop the Oracle application systems. This includes working in close coordination with other Corporate IT resources to install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain the Oracle ERP & Finance technologies.The post holder will also be responsible for planning and coordinating change management required for the deployment of the ERP systems necessary for business operations.As a Systems Analyst your main responsibilities will work in close coordination with Corporate IT resources to:*Evaluate, develop, install, configure and deploy application fixes, systems, software and/or enhancements to existing applications. *Design and implement redundant system policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving. *Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.*Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting.*Prepare and deliver activity and progress reports for presentation to the executive management team.*Assist with design specifications, program logic and data conversions.*Develop database architectures, coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures.*Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standards. *Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels. *Manage and maintain system documentation and support manuals. As a Systems Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:*Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science information systems or business administration and/or significant equivalent work experience. *Demonstrable direct experience supporting and developing ERP applications ideally with experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite. *Solid ERP & finance database management and Windows skills. *Technically fluent in relational database administration including use of command line and graphically oriented tools. *Knowledge of enterprise-level applications including ERP, CRM, and data warehouses, as well as other Oracle system modules, etc.*Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. *Experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers including Sun and Intel platforms. *Hands-on database performance tuning and troubleshooting experience. *Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques including report writing & business intelligence. What we are looking for in you:Relevant technical background and the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and a user-friendly language. Proven analytical and problem solving abilities. Must be flexible to travel when necessary for the purpose of off-site installations and be available on call if required.Base Location Silchester, Berkshire, RG7Salary:Competitive salary and benefits package.
