Our client is an engineering company that manufacture, service and design a wide spectrum of rotating equipment for the oil and gas, refining, LNG, petrochemical and other process and power industries.An excellent opportunity has become available to join as a Warehouse Operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling the flow of consumables, parts and machinery in and out of the Silchester Facility. This requires checking incoming goods against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies. Ensuring goods received are booked onto a computer system, and picking & packing components for export.As a Warehouse Operative your main responsibilities will involve: *Checking packaging, quantities and descriptions of goods against purchase orders.*Determine which goods are to receive further inspection, and tag appropriately.*Maintain the warehouse in an orderly and tidy manner, and control the integrity of its contents.*Periodically check the condition of goods in the warehouse.*Maintain a separate area for damaged hold goods and dead stock to prevent their inadvertent use.*Control limited life items and advise manager of impending expiry.*Prevent the removal or entrance of any item into the warehouse without authorisation.*Carry out inventory checks as required.*Pick and pack items according to the instruction and ensure that picked items are in good condition and properly preserved.*Assemble cartons, and construct wooden export crates according to company procedures.*Package items to prevent damage and loss in transit.As a Warehouse Operative your skills and qualifications will ideally include: *Educated to GCSE level with grade C or above achieved in English.*Previous experience gained working in a warehouse environment, and associated data entry systems.*Skilled in packaging methods and construction of export crates. *Saw bench safety knowledge and previous experience is highly desirable. *Good command of the English language (spoken and written).*A forklift operator’s license and slinging certificate or the ability to train.
