Our client is a highly successful organisation within the building and plumbing merchants industry. They trade from over 400 locations nationwide, employ approximately 5,000 staff and have a turnover in excess of £1bn. Their businesses or ‘brands’ are leading merchants and specialists in their own fields.
One of these brands is a regional chain of builders’ merchants trading from 28 different locations from North Yorkshire to Cambridgeshire. They are dedicated to providing products and services to benefit everyone from the professional tradesman to the DIY enthusiast or home builder.
They now have an opportunity available for a Showroom Manager to join the Gainsborough branch to promote and expand the profitability of the showroom as a whole.
Ensuring the needs of our customers are dealt with efficiently and without delay by the Showroom, you will actively develop sales within the Showroom and ensure that the stock is maintained in a first class condition.Maintaining regular liaison with the Group Showroom Development Manager in designing display areas and making display recommendations based on customer feedback, you will attend Showroom Sales Meetings and manufacturers’ visits where required and keep abreast of new developments, introduction of new stock and the effect on existing stock.
Leading by example and promoting business personality, you will manage, organise and motivate the team to achieve showroom financial targets and meet operational needs; recruiting and training new employees and establishing good relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers. You should be able to meet the customers’ expectations in sales and kitchen designs from the self-build, small builder to the smaller developer.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Showroom Manager/Showroom Designer or Showroom sales person, with design experience from a similar industry background and looking to further their career.With experience of showroom financial performance against budget, you will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making skills and be experienced in handling both cash and stock.
