Job Title: Retail Furniture Warehouse Manager
Location: Newhaven and East Sussex wide travel
Salary: Up to £24k Dependent on Experience + 8% Contributory pension after 6 months probationary period
Working Hours: 35 Hours per Week including Weekend working and Bank holidays on a rota basis
Our client is looking for an experienced Manager to manage their Stock Collections team and two furniture warehouses in Newhaven. This social enterprise is integral to achieving maximum income to support the work of their local charity. You will be expected to successfully manage the day to day operations across two warehouse sites, maintaining a 7 day operation, managing the employed and self-employed stock collections team to meet stock generation targets, showing evidence of growing retail business profits on a year by year basis, training and motivating your team to achieve goals.
A minimum of two years successful management experience taking responsibility for 5 or more staff and volunteers is essential, together with at least two years’ experience in either warehouse management, charity retail, high street retail or hospitality management. Also essential is a minimum or two years successful experience in sales, cash handling, customer service and sales administration.
You will show evidence of a commercial mind-set with an understanding for business and an interest and passion to increase profitability. You will be self-motivated, with an ability to organise your own and others time, manage rotas and prioritise tasks.
You must be physically able to carry and lift furniture and items up to 20 kilos up and down stairs, ideally with training in manual handling, safe heavy lifting and moving and storing large quantities of goods.Experience of maintaining a stock collections or logistics team, a fleet of vans, carrying out daily safety inspections is also desirable.
A clean full driving licence is essential and owns car is desirable.
