JOB PROFILEThe Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the day to day installation & servicing of MHE. The engineer will report directly to the Supervisor or Project Manager.JOB PURPOSE* To provide an effective equipment installation service for all aspects of Mechanical Handling Equipment within the Sovex product range.* To work alongside installation colleagues and nominated sub-contractors to provide assistance and support, ensuring specified work is carried out to industry standards and in accordance with specified contract agreements.* To review equipment performance and suitability ensuring installed equipment is fit for purpose and meets the demands of the customer.* To manage an ongoing process of achievement to sustain equipment life and condition. * Work in conjunction with the Sovex management team to undertake and manage a process of continual improvement to enhance company efficiency, operational productivity and service levels to our customers.* To provide feedback and reports covering work activity.* To provide solutions & remedies to site issues in respect to equipment installations and equipment performance.* To provide feedback and recommendations to reduce equipment abuse and operator damage.MAIN AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY* Ensure all engineering equipment is installed and maintained in accordance with manufactures recommendations and in line with current health and safety legislation i.e.; PUWER, H&SAWA, LOLER.IEE Regs 16th Edition* Develop detailed installation routines for each type of equipment to constitute a tailored installation provision for individual sites.* Develop installation techniques to provide ease of maintenance at the handover stage. This will ensure operational efficiency, maximum productivity and a safe working environment for operator’s.* Strive to reduce downtime of equipment and improve operational efficiency.* Ensure the business has the necessary support and provision for installation services.* Monitor sub-contractor performance whilst working on site. * Procurement of equipment, parts and services in accordance with the installation requirements.* Ensure maximum cost effectiveness is obtained for all site installation work undertaken. Target poor performance, high spend areas and undertake continual improvement.* Monitor equipment performance in line with H&S legislation and statutory compliance.* Ensure equipment checks are carried out in accordance with H&S regulations and where applicable necessary statutory certification is achieved.* Continually review equipment design, purpose and application in respect to operator comfort and H&S requirements.
