This will be achieved through growth and optimisation by gaining an increased market share, improved performance and further geographical spread across Central Scotland. PositionEsh Border requires an Estimating Director based out of the Carlisle office. The role of Estimating Director carries responsibility for management of the pricing function for the civil engineering, building and social housing divisions within Esh Border. Working alongside a Commercial Director and 3 Construction Directors, the Estimating Director will report to the Regional Director. The role responsibilities include leadership of a team of direct reports; 2 Estimators and Estimating Administrator. If the successful applicant is currently at the level of Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager, it is expected that they will step up to Estimating Director and join the Esh Border senior leadership team within 6 to 12 months of joining the business. Experience RequiredThe Estimating Director will be specifically competent in building prices for civil engineering related schemes and producing tailored responses which demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Client. Projects to tender will be high in volume and range in value between £0.5m and £5m. The Estimating Director will be joining an established business which is continuing to expand and so the ability to fit within a lean, hardworking environment is important to succeeding in this role. A positive and practical management style combined with the confidence to take ownership and hold accountability for all aspects of the pricing process is imperative to the Director level and is an expectation from day one. The ability to oversee a number of tender projects at one time, managing effectively through others is fundamental. The successful applicant will demonstrate proven success and strength for building prices within the civil engineering arena, with knowledge of multiple contract types and ideally, some experience or exposure to a range of general building construction project and /or social housing contracts.
