National Marketing Executive

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is the Government's flagship personal and social development programme for young people. NCS is a government funded initiative that supports community engagement and social integration among young people. The programme has grown year on year and there will be a network of some 50,000 NCS graduates across the UK by the end of 2013. The NCS Network is the largest provider of NCS's in England and will offer more than 30,000 young people the opportunity to graduate from the NCS programme by the end of 2014. The NCS network operates in 6 regions including Yorkshire and Humber, SE1, SE2, Northwest, West Midlands, North East.

Serco are currently recruiting a National Marketing Executive to work at the National Citizen Service in Birmingham. This role supports the National Citizen Service Programme delivery for 2013 and 2014. There is an ambitious marketing strategy to help drive challenging recruitment targets, assist in retention and build awareness of the NCS brand powered by the NCS network. The role of the national marketing exec will be to assist in the implementation of national marketing projects, and support regional initiatives plus daily administration for the central marketing team. Particular emphasis will be on the tactical implementation of the following: Support for regional integrated campaigns, agency liaison, co-ordination and monitoring of sales promotions, copywriting, marketing supplier liaison, proof reading, ordering marketing materials and stock control, event organisation, co-ordination of case study programme, liaison with trust marketing, support for digital exec and maintaining budget spread sheets.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaison with regional marketing coordinators to assist with and ensure implementation of national campaignsCo-ordination support to local agenciesAgency and suppler liaisonLiaison with design and marketing suppliers re costs, orders and timescalesProofing marketing materialsStock control and management of marketing materialsManaging stock levels of marketing leaflets, consumables i.e. pens, wrist bands, hoodies etcOrdering new stockCo-ordinating distribution of materials to regional teamsWriting promotional copyLiaising with the call centreCo-ordinating responses and reportingCo-ordinating attendees for national trust eventsSupport to regional teams for non-school events e.g. HE conference and head teachers forumsSupporting marketing aspects for network road showsInternal communicationsCo-ordination and writing of the internal newsletterUploading key marketing documents to the FTPCo-ordinating requests with regional marketing co-ordinatorsMaintaining case study databaseAdministration for suppliers and invoicing etc.Maintaining budget spread sheetsSupport to digital exec to source content for digital and social channelsDeveloping non-school lists on CRM e.g. media databases, MPS, youth and children's servicesCo-ordination of graduation certificatesInput into social media campaignsCo-ordinating young people to attend eventsResponding to ad-hoc requests for filming and case studies etc

Additional Information:Travel will be required so a driving licence is necessary. Some overnight stays are also likely.
