Communication Officer Part Time

Dyer & Butler is a Regional Civil Engineering Contractor, with offices throughout the UK. With a turnover last year of £93m and an estimated turnover this year of £120m, we are in an enviable position with a healthy forward order book. We work within a variety of sectors including; highways, rail infrastructure, airports, Reinforced Concrete structures, water and environmental.

We are presently seeking to recruit a Communications Officer to be based in Farnborough, working on a live Civil Engineering site. This is a customer-facing role, and therefore it is vital that you are an excellent communicator with obvious interpersonal skills. The role requires someone who is confident in dealing with the General Public whatever their concerns, able to show diplomacy at all times and remain calm when managing complaints. Having worked in a similar role previously, would be advantageous but not essential.

The project is a £3m roundabout remodelling scheme over a 46 week programme, within close proximity to Farnborough Airport. This is a part time role and requires someone to work Monday - Friday for a minimum of 4 hours each day. Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

·Working closely with the Clients Communications Team

·Interface with the general public, Farnborough Airport and the MOD

·Liaison with local business owners, local residents, the local school and hotel, regarding project delivery timings and any traffic issues (i.e. Large vehicles delivering to site) etc.

·Communication of the scheme to local residents and businesses by producing leaflets, monthly newsletters, letter drops etc. as required

·Managing complaints and comments by maintaining a complaints log and reporting on this at progress meetings

·Attendance at any public exhibitions, presentations, etc. that may be arranged during the construction period

·Maintain a company website detailing the progress of the project, Traffic Management changes and other issues of importance to motorists and businesses. This may include any day to day changes.
