Building Surveyor/Project Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen working for a Biotechnological Institute as a Building Surveyor/Project Manager to develop, programme and project manage ongoing small to medium on site buildings and civil infrastructure projects maintenance schemes and work packages in accordance with current regulatory requirements including decommissioning and demolition projects in accordance with the strategic plan. Key Responsibilities: -Prepare, co-ordinate and deliver capital project schemes or term contract works including backlog maintenance deliverables for buildings and civil infrastructure -Manage relationships between in house and consultant multi-disciplinary teams including third party contractors/sub-contractors -Organise workloads on a day to day basis to deliver projects, on time-on budget and to business plan targets -Ensure that all technical and quality standards are regularly reviewed and applied in relation to buildings and civil infrastructure project programmes and that contractor/consultant proposals meet the required brief and standard specific by the user -Have responsibility for overall programme monitoring and inspection of completed works, with appropriate support to ensure that the project brief has been met and that the relevant standards have been achieved -Provide day-to-day management for allocated maintenance staff ensuring that all schemes are being effectively delivered 40% -Lead on preparation and delivery of multi-year M&E project programmes, ensuring that investment needs are met and resources maximised and used to optimal effect for the continuous Improvement of buildings and civil infrastructure projects It is essential that the successful candidate has a professional certification in Project Management, significant and relevant post-qualifying project management (buildings & civil infrastructure) construction/engineering environment and a record of successful project delivery small to medium (£0.1m & £2m) (s) It is desirable to have a degree qualified in Construction/ Surveying/Project Management or related subject, chartered (Membership of professional body RICS etc. It is sometimes necessary to close vacancies before the closing date.
