EB7935: Logistics Supervisor / ManagerSalary: £26,000 DOELocation:Walsall, West MidlandsPosition: Permanent (Shifts)An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Supervisor / Manager who has previous experience working as a Manager within a fast and challenging environment. The Logistics Supervisor / Manager will have day to day management responsibility for all logistics and weigh-bridge operations. Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel are strongly encouragedMain Duties and Responsibilities:Keep up to date on all new instructions, policies, procedures and changes in relevant legislationEnsure all site operations are carried out within Health & Safety and quality proceduresOrganise, plan, prioritise and schedule your own work and that of your team membersMonitor, review and refine your team's working methods to ensure continuous improvementPromote and manage change to produce positive resultsEnsure vehicles, plant and/or machinery perform at optimum levelsEnsure vehicles, plant and/or machinery are serviced and maintained in accordance with procedures and set preventative maintenance plansEnsure internal and external customers' requirements are fulfilled in a timely and appropriate mannerInduct new team members to ensure they have the right skills and knowledge to undertake their roles effectively and to facilitate integration Manage and maintain discipline Utilise resources (human and other) effectively and legallyKeep the team briefed Manage information effectively and action appropriatelyEnsure all equipment on site is maintained in line with relevant Health and Safety RegulationsEnsure all key performance indicators are achievedQualifications/ExperienceOrganised and able to plan and prioritise (Essential)Able to problem solve (Essential)Working knowledge of Health & Safety at Work procedures (Essential)Computer literate (Microsoft Office packages, e-mail) (Essential)Previous management experience (Essential)COTC level 3 qualification (Desirable)NVQ level 5 in Supervisory skills (Desirable).CPC desirable but not essentialProactivePositive attitudeWillingness to learn new skillsAble to coach, mentor and lead othersReliableAble to stay calm under pressureAble to tolerate a significant amount of routine workAdaptableSelf-reliantInterested applicants will be expected to complete and return by email a simple application form to which CVs must be pasted.Salary: £26,000Location:Walsall, West MidlandsPosition: Permanent
