Through our 20 depots around the UK, we sell a huge confectionery range with a turnover of circa £135 million. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Confectionery Buyer based in the midlands. The Role of the Confectionery Buyer: The ideal confectionery buyer would be an experienced and proactive individual buyer, who has proven success and contacts with buying (ideally) confectionery from outside and within the UK.
Key Focus:Source new suppliers and products in line with the strategy through knowledge and expertise of the category. Negotiate the best possible terms with suppliers Building long term, value added relationship and practices with suppliers Ensure that buying decisions are based on a sound commercial framework to drive sales and profit Work closely with the Purchasing Director Be responsible for the ordering process within the area, ensuring compliance with all relevant processes To be a successful International Confectionery Buyer in our business you will need: Previous confectionery buying experience and a proven record of strong supplier negotiation Ability to work under their own initiative to deliver maximum profitability and service, with the ability and confidence to be able to influence effectively at all levels You will be able to demonstrate a passionate approach utilising sound commercial acumen and clear initiative to inspire suppliers to share best practice A self-motivated individual with a high level of integrity and has the ability to calmly react to unexpected business demands to achieve the desired results with a strong work ethic To have a good commercial understanding of the total confectionery market
