Kitchen Assistant

The Retail catering service operates a large self-service restaurant and coffee shop, it also operates a vending service across the site and delivers a hospitality service to internal and external customers

The Kitchen Assistant role is to provide a retail catering service that meets the expectations of the patients, staff and visitors both in terms of quality safety and value for money.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Preparation of food to provide hot and cold food and beverages

- Prepare and or serve food to customers in a professional and courteous manner

- Ensure that high personal hygiene and infection control standards are maintained

- Cleaning of catering and service equipment

- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards

- Correctly use and take care of all equipment and materials

- Store goods correctly and use stock on a rotational basis

- Participate as a full member of the team

- Undertake other ad hoc duties as prescribed by manager and within scope of skill and capability

Skills:

- Optimising retail sales and demonstrating high levels of customer service

- Health and Safety awareness

- Experience working in a similar environment

- Optimise sales

- Minimise food wastage

- Work flexibly as required to cover other members of the team
