Health & Safety Advisor - 12 Month FTC
We have an exciting opportunity for a 12 month fixed term position for an experienced qualified Health and Safety advisor in Shipley.As Printcraft’s Health and Safety Advisor you will need to be comfortable working autonomously and must be able to carry out risk assessments and accident investigations.As Health and Safety Advisor we will need you to manage the health and safety and compliance across the site through implementation of safe working practices, analysing risks, and to be focussed on continuous improvement. Printcraft established in 1993 has grown impressively to be one of the largest greeting cards manufacturing facilities in Europe with a focus on efficiency and maximum output. In 2009 it was acquired by the Card Factory and prints over 200 million cards a year and employs over 150 permanent staff. What we will need you to do as Health and Safety Advisor:Risk Assessments• Undertake all Risk Assessments across the site and ensure where appropriate suitable control measures are implemented• Reviewing trends arising from risk assessments and identify where health and safety practices can be improvedAccidents/Incidents• Carry out thorough accident/incident investigations with a view to making improvements to prevent future occurrences• Review accidents/incidents identifying liability in regards to claims, ensuring recommendations are provided to the Senior Management Team and group Compliance and Safety Manager regarding on going EL and PL claims• Liaise with the Insurance Broker, Senior Management Team and Group Compliance and Safety Manager regarding on-going EL and PL claimsEmployee Welfare • Investigate and respond to any complaints relating to employee welfare, safety or health. Take action where possible or put forward recommendations where appropriate • Assist in developing and delivering any employee well-being and health screening initiatives• Work closely with HR in order to ensure that any absence is managed appropriately on site• Ensure the provision of clear and consistent health, safety and welfare advice and guidance across the site on all health and safety issuesDocumentation• Develop and deliver documentation, training and guidance in health and safety and welfare matters including but not limited to risk assessments, safe systems of work, manual handling, noise and COSHH• Continuous review of documentation to ensure both personnel are able to comply with current policies, procedures and ensure that health and safety is encompassed into the corporate culture.
