Clinical Psychologist (neurorehabilitation)

Permanent  for Christchurch Group in Birmingham

(Equivalent Band 7/8a)

37.5 hours p/week,

Birmingham or Northampton

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist with a keen interest in neuro-rehabilitation to be a key member of the multi-disciplinary therapy team based at either our Hunters Moor location in Birmingham or our Northampton services.

As a Clinical Psychologist you must:

Be BPS accredited postgraduate professional training in clinical psychology;Have current HCPC registrationBe able to demonstrate good communication skills; with the ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, parents/carers and other professionals.

Key responsibilities of a Clinical Psychologist include:

Provision of psychological assessments of referred clients using interview, formal psychometric and other assessment methods as appropriate.To formulate and devise psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients with a range of problems of severity and complexity, including those with challenging behaviours, and to provide psychological treatment for such clients, using a range of psychological interventions appropriate to the service.To provide psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, to assist in the formulation, diagnosis and treatment of clients.To provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients.To liaise with other health and social care staff, from a range of agencies, in the care provided to clientsTo provide professional and clinical supervision to trainees and assistant psychologists and, where appropriate, other staff providing psychological interventions.To provide advice, consultation, training and supervision, where appropriate, to other health and social care staff working with the client group

You will be familiar with inter-disciplinary working, goal planning and key-working. The successful candidate will be supported and supervised the by the lead psychologist with the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in this exciting role.

Occasional travel to our other services may be required so a car driver/owner would be desirable. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
