Carbon60 are working with a key Global Aerospace Defence client in Dorset that are looking to add a number of Software Engineers to their team. As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that the Software design can be implemented using the Project Technologies as defined by the Project Architect, Producing Class-level software design, Creating and maintaining Class-level design artefacts,Ensuring requirements are met by the design,Ensuring that the software design can be implemented using the project's technologies (language, platform, etc) as defined by the project's Architect. Creating prototypes to validate design decisions, Following design principles, as defined by the Architect, Following process/procedures specific to compliance with DO178B, Providing feedback to Architect on design principles, Providing status reporting, Reviewing designs,Creating source code in the project's implementation language from the software design,Creating and maintaining implementation artefacts - source code, etc. Reviewing source code, Construction of representative system environment - hardware, platform, middleware, device drivers,Integrating software and hardware platforms,Building developed CSCI components,Deploying CSCI components onto system hardware,Ensuring CSCI components work correctly in system environment,Managing work time effectively.

Our Client, a large aerospace engineering organisation based in the Dorset area, we are looking for Software Engineer with RTOS experience,ATI Nucleus, VxWorks, Defence/Commercial avionics industry projects, MIL-STD-1553B / ARINC etc.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will have at least five years experience within an embedded Software Development role utilising C ideally working within the Aerospace or Defence sector.

Good working knowledge and understanding of DO-178B or DO-178A (or similar safety-critical standard).

Summary of the Software Engineer Skills & Requirements:

You will be tasked with:

Ensuring that the Software design can be implemented using the Project Technologies as defined by the Project Architect.

Proven experience (circa 5 years) within an embedded Software Development role utilising C.

Good working knowledge and understanding of DO-178B (or similar safety-critical standard).

DO-178A would also be acceptable.

You will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.

To be considered for the Software Engineer you must be able to work on ITAR (International Traffic Arms Regulations) restricted products and all candidates will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.

Please note that all application for the Software Engineer role will need to be eligible to gain for UK Security Clearance and be able to work on ITAR restricted projects for the American Military. Our client is very conveniently located in in Wimborne Dorset which is in an easy commute of Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, Christchurch, Yeovil and the surrounding Hampshire, Dorset boarders.
