An engineering design company specialising in manufacturing transportation products for the motorsport industry are looking to recruit a CAD Engineer to design simple but custom and bespoke transit cases with CAD software for production in on-site manufacturing facility.
This position has arisen from a brand new order in excess of £1 million so there is a lot of opportunity for a CAD Engineer to arrive at an exhilarating time.
The CAD Engineer will develop these design solutions through close liaison with customers and in accordance with agreed design principles and procedures, handling large enquiries and contracts from first enquiry through to the shipping phase.
The CAD Engineer will assist in the production of custom product designs for quotation support and product manufacture using AutoCAD. Other design and development activities you will be involved with will include production of works orders to communicate design and component specification to production functions and external suppliers, ensuring they are undertaken in accordance with agreed design principles and procedures in line with the company's manual. The chance to contribute to a team effort for continuous product improvement and enchancement is supported, so you must be innovative and able to respect others' ideas.
The CAD Engineer will be trained with a HND in Mechanical Engineering and beexperienced with the use of CAD at a graduate level. There is no need for prior professional or commercial employment history, as they are seeking somebody with low exposure to the industry who is looking to start their career in engineering design.
The CAD engineer will have an interest in working in a fabrication environment mostly with sheet metal and somebody who understands the fundamental principles of design. The CAD Engineer will be outgoing, keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability and self driven with a positive outlook.
Working on a large team of engineers, which incorporates almost 30% of their staff, the CAD Engineer will be dedicated to supporting and assisting the team during busy seasonal periods. It is a fast-paced, high pressure manufacturing plant, with quick turnaround on product deadlines working effectively to ISO9001 quality standards. The CAD Engineer must commit to work flexibly during tense periods.
