Internal Auditor

Permanent  for Aquista in Basingstoke

Internal Auditor

c.£40,000 to £45,000 base + bonus + benefits

Backed by the US private equity firm J.C. Flowers & Co. and with an extremely strong and experienced Board and Executive team, Castle Trust is on a mission to deliver a simpler and more accessible way of investing in the UK housing market, whilst providing a new alternative to conventional mortgage finance for UK property owners. Our innovative products include second charge mortgages with no monthly payments; house price tracker investment vehicles and high interest fixed rate bonds. By providing a means for property owners and investors to share risk and return, we believe that we are making the housing finance market in the UK more efficient, creating real value in the system by reducing systemic risk and allowing all parties to benefit.

We now seek to recruit an Internal Auditor, who will report to the Head of Assurance and help provide independent assurance that significant risks faced by Castle Trust are identified, understood and appropriately managed. You will support the Head of Assurance in developing the internal audit strategy and internal audit plan and be responsible for executing the majority of the plan. This will include undertaking individual assignments, ad-hoc reviews and investigations. This role is clearly very important to our future success; and given that you will be joining a young, fast growing company, it will afford you broad based experience and exposure to all levels of seniority within the business.

You must have gained at least 3 years recent experience in an internal audit function of a smaller organisation, or had exposure to auditing all aspects of a larger one. In the alternative, we would consider someone from public practice, as long as you have had exposure to auditing all aspects of an organisation. You must be qualified or part qualified in a relevant professional qualification. It is desirable that you have undertaken compliance/assurance activity in the financial services sector and have experience of working in an outsourced business environment. Aside from your experience, your personal approach is key. Given the size of our business, you must relish the opportunity to push the boundaries of your experience and be comfortable working cross-functionally.Those who love variety and a chance to extend themselves will enjoy this role.
