Civil Engineering – Depot Project


£500 per day or c £75,000 basic and package

MRG are supporting a Top Ten UK civil engineering and construction main contractor. The company has been established for over 80 years and employs over 600 multidiscipline engineers and construction managers across 5 UK offices.

The business has three division’s civil, rail and build and has carefully developed a reputation and track record for intelligently delivering projects of values from £10m to £150m.

The civils division have won a £75m rail and civils depot upgrade project in Doncaster and are seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to take responsibility for delivering the project (inclusive of safety, programme and cost).

The Role:

The Senior Project manager has ultimate responsibility for the successfully delivery of the project.

The project is multidisciplinary and includes heavy civils, build, track modification and M&E. Specific responsibilities will include:

Manage the project, cost, program and safety to ensure deliveryManage the relationship with the clientManagement and co-ordination of circa 35 agents and engineers delivering the multidisciplinary worksEnsuring that the work is delivered safelyEnsure that the necessary paperwork is completed to the standard required Development of graduate and junior engineers

·Be responsible and accountable for decisions and actions.

·Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all progress is accurately communicated.

·Be proactive, driven and results focussed, while maintaining client and stakeholder relationships


Essential Criteria

Demonstrable experience of delivering large multidisciplinary rail projectsHave worked for major civil engineering contractors with direct responsibility for delivery of the worksBe familiar with delivery for Network Rail works inclusive of the processes and paperwork required to work in a Rail environmentGood organisational skills with a track record of planning and delivering civil projects.Have a minimum of 15 years relevant experience

 Qualifications and Memberships

Hold a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent

The project is due to complete in 2017 and both contract or permanent candidates are of interest.
