Michael Page require a Head Of Composites engineer. The client we are supporting is based in Kent and have very recently begun looking for this role.

Our client based in Kent design and develop wind turbines in partnership with the largest energy user in the United Kingdom
The Head of Composites engineer will join the team based in Kent.
The successful applicant will join a talented and dynamic team.
This is a unique chance to lead and develop a new composite department, and be involved from original concept up to introduction into manufacture, including prototyping of a new technology.

The Head of Composites role will lead the development of our client's internal composite department;
B.Sc/B.Eng or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Proven track record in the design of composite structures to agreed requirements.
Excellent analytical skills and solid theoretical background in mechanical and composite design.
Minimum 10 years experience in a relevant senior composite engineering position.
Exposure to modern FEA methods for composites.
Ability to influence and steer the technical direction of a team.
Rigorous attention to detail. The Head of Composites will be desired to have experience.
Exposure to Design for Six-Sigma and/or DMAIC.
Hands-on experience of 3D CAD Design systems (preferably CATIA V5).
Relevant experience in wind turbine design and development.
