We are a small business in a stage of expansion and growth. To take us to the next level we are looking for a bookkeeper that wants to be part of our success. The role requires someone to be excited to create, implement and run systems and processes to bring our finance functions to an efficient, solid and effective state.
We are a successful immigration logistics company providing support services to immigration law firms. Our core service is a premium legal clerking service where we assist applicants who are applying for visas to stay in the UK. Our primary market consists of premium law firms based in the City of London. We originated from 2 separate companies that started trading 11 years ago. These companies merged in February this year to create Arnold DaSilva Ltd. We currently have 4 full time staff and 18 part time staff.
We are based in Borough in Central London.
This is an interesting, varied and responsible job encompassing a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping activities. You will be responsible for all Accounts Receivable duties from job invoicing to receiving and reconciling payments and communicating to our clients. You will also be running all Accounts Payable activities – filing, recording, payments and communications with vendors. In addition you will be checking and reconciling various bank and credit card accounts, communication with managers and our Payroll Agency regarding payroll calculations, paying staff expenses, banking and all other accounting related matters. You need to have working knowledge of the UK VAT system and your previous experience must have been gained in the uk.
You will need to have working experience of filing systems such as Dropbox and Google Drive, Mac Operating System and MS Office applications like Excel and Word. Experience of using Xero Accounting Software would be an advantage, but training can be provided.
Desirable Qualities of Candidate
If you are a reliable, hard working, problem solver who is conscientious and up for a challenge then our booking keeping role may be a fantastic opportunity for you. It is important that you have some previous experience in a similar role, at least a year. You will need to have good communication skills and be able to work independently where some multi tasking is necessary. Attention to detail and taking ownership of your own work is imperative in the position.
For candidates with the right attitude and necessary basic skill set, essential training and support will be provided with basic training to bring them up to speed. The person in the role will be working closely with our accountant using Xero.
Hours and Conditions
The role is part time consisting of 15 hours a week. This could be spread over 2 or 3 days. Fixed days and hours are required, but which days you work can be negotiated with management. You will be working with 3 full time staff in our Borough office.
