Sales Ledger Clerk - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

John N Dunn Group Ltd is an established building services company with a strong specialism in plumbing, heating and electrics. We have an impressive list of blue chip customers, including many major UK housing developers and associations as well as commercial contractors. 

We are looking for a Sales Ledger Clerk to work in our busy Finance Team.

Overall Purpose of Job

To maintain contract and sales ledgers accounts ensuring transactions processing is accurate, complete and timely.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·Post contract applications on a timely basis

·Post invoices on a timely basis

·Post sales ledger cash receipts daily and allocate as required

·Create and issue authenticated receipts where necessary

·Produce and issue approved customer statement monthly

·Perform house-keeping

·Post authorised write-offs monthly

·Reconcile contract sales ledger and sales ledger on a daily basis using Excel

·Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner

·Maintain accurate and up to date customer details and account records

·Regularly contact customers by phone, fax and email to chase overdue payments within agreed timescales

·Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity

·Undertake account reconciliations as required

·Make adjustments, handle queries and resolves problems within Company guidelines and policy

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required


·Good IT skills – particularly Excel

·Date entry experience

·Good organisational and communication skills


·Previous sales ledger or credit control experience

·Full and clean driving license
