Facilities Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a client focussed, hands on Facilities Manager to join our team.

Overall Purpose: Under the guidance of the Operations Director you are responsible for the smooth running, and management of our Halls of Residence.

Working with senior management and first point of contact with the Residents Manager located on site, enable excellent communication between the site and Head Office, ensuring that any issues are made known to Head Office as soon as is reasonably practicable.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

To recruit, manage and monitor security staff, domestic and administrative staff.Handling any grievance or disciplinary issues that may arise with support from HR.Ensure the building and grounds are maintained to contracted standards, through regular inspections, arranging all pre-planned maintenance/repairs as required.Responsible for weekly banking, stock control, receiving goods and authorising of invoices.Completion of all reports to senior managers, including weekly reports to the Operations Manager and Director.Maintain accurate resident information on the PAC system.Liaison with University staff (on-site residents manager) as appropriate, and if necessary, ensure that the accommodation office is also kept up to date with the student’s movements.Undertake project work as required by Head Office, in order to formulate or develop policies that concern the Department.To attend any training made available, and take responsibility for your development and that of all staff.To comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures as laid out in the Health and Safety Statement.To ensure all staff have a full understanding of the Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.To carry out risk assessments of their site, and relay any concerns to the appropriate person, usually this will be the Operations Manager.To ensure that customers/residents/students/University complaints are dealt with expeditiously, courteously, professionally and fairly.Any other tasks deemed necessary.
