Business & Product Development Manager

The Company

Marubeni Aviation International ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation a Japanese owned business. Marubeni Aviation specialises in the sales, leasing, and manufacturing of aircraft parts, aircrafts and defence systems.

Role Summary

The Company is currently looking to expand its business in Europe by increasing its leasing contracts and involvement in providing manufactured aircraft parts. To assist with the growth of the business they are now looking to hire a Business & Product Development Manager who will be responsible for acquiring new accounts in Europe and promoting the services and products of Marubeni Aviation by providing technical information regarding aircraft parts to current and potential clients. A key part of the role is to work closely with the headquarters in Japan and implement strategy as directed by Marubeni Headquarters.

Key responsibilities

Responsible for providing technical expertise regarding the company’s manufactured products to current and potential clients. Attend meetings in the UK and Europe to demonstrate products. Lead the business development activities in the UK on behalf of the Japanese company. Research opportunities for business growth in the UK for the company including acquisitions. Conduct research into the UK and European aviation market and industry trends in order to better understand the requirements of UK and European clients.Compile and analyse sales figures to inform strategy. Achieve sales targets as set by Marubeni Corporation, Tokyo.Produce weekly/ monthly reports and recommendations concerning sales strategies, finances and market research for headquarters in Japan.

Key skills and experience

-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

-Experience in the supply of manufactured components to the aviation industry, particularly with steel and alloy production.

-Experience in developing new business and key accounts.

-Must be able to carry out technical presentations and be able to explain and interpret trial results.

-Candidate must be able to demonstrate that they have excellent working knowledge of the aviation market.

-Experience of reporting on business activities (financials, market, key accounts) on a monthly basis.

-Fluent in Japanese.
