We offer a fully managed estate and property management service to NHS organisations and companies within the UK health sector.Serco are currently recruiting for an Electrician (Multi Skilled Craftsperson) . The purpose of the role is to provide a safe and efficient maintenance service throughout all required properties covering a wide area of Cambridgeshire as directed by the Estates Supervisors and Management. Delivering a quality service to a wide range of predominantly NHS properties to include Ward Areas, Outpatients & Clinical Departments, Health Centres, Offices etc. to provide a safe and pleasing environment for staff, patients and clients ensuring that our customer buildings fabric, plant, services and equipment are maintained to a high standard, delivering continued efficiency, safety and reliability and to safeguard the future long term serviceability of the Estate.Responsibilities:- To carry out unsupervised reactive maintenance repairs, fault finding, installation, servicing, testing and commissioning to a wide range of services, plant and equipment within all areas of our customers properties as directed by Supervisors or Estates Managers covering electrical, mechanical and building services.- To carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment covering electrical, mechanical and building services.- Be required to use technical electronic test equipment, being able to measure, record and interpret readings.- To work in accordance to all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Work Place Regulations, Health & Safety Legislation and best practice guidelines. - To assess all aspects of tasks at all times and take appropriate actions to include completion of specific Risk Assessments.- To actively participate in the computerised Facilities Management System, including accurate and punctual completion of Work Order Documentation in line with Policies & Procedures. - Full understanding of the stock control systems and responsibility for managing all stock within the requirements of the role and in full compliance with the Polices & Procedures.- To be prepared to attend work prior to expected start time or work beyond expected finishing time in certain circumstances, as requested by Supervisors or Estate Managers.- To liaise directly and manage Serco sub-contractors when required to include issuing of Permits.- Estimating quantities of materials and resources as and when required to include Minor Works and installation works.- Will be required to work as part of the On Call Team covering high priority work outside of normal working hours.- Follow the principles of multi-skilling which will involve working in a highly flexible and professional manner across all other disciplines and building trades.
Knowledge, Training and Experience Required:- 17th Edition City and Guilds qualification - Completion of a recognised appropriate Electrical Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Programme.- Appropriate Electrical City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent/other qualifications.- This role requires travel to various sites around Cambridgeshire, therefore knowledge of the local area would be advantageous. - Proven experience of working in a similar environment.- Knowledge and understanding of Electrical Building Services.- Good communication and customer service skills.- Full Driving LicenceIf you feel you meet the criteria for the role please apply and upload a copy of your CV.Serco is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
