Title: Planner 1 Provide an effective and professional planning and programming service for pre-contract and project teams.2 The functional leadership and management of planning resource on a project or a smaller cluster of projects within a geographic area or product stream, from pre-qualification to completion. 3 To work with other planning staff to deliver planning solutions across the Business Unit. 4 Provide focus for the Business Unit knowledge baseGOVERNANCE:4 Work with planning department peers to implement 'best practice' and share knowledge. 5 Investigate and report on possible innovation in construction and planning techniques6 Carry out peer reviews and programme auditsBUSINESS UNIT REPORTING:7 Report on audit findings and suggest corrective action to manage risks8 Provide input into summary business reports, based on audits and Monthly Operational ReportsOPERATIONAL:9 Prepare or provide input into project reports10 Instigate and monitor a balanced suite of performance measurement criteria throughout a project's lifecycle, including Key Performance Indicators, milestone management and analysis of trends.12 Keep records and maintain 'as-built' programmes on site. Keep register of programme issues.13 Set up protocols and manage Supply Chain programme production, issue and acceptance15 Ensure proper integration of design and procurement elements of programmes with construction. Produce and monitor Master Information Required Schedule (with DM, if appropriate).16 Quality checking of programmes produced by junior planning staff17 Produce and manage integrated target programmes and assist with production of short-term programmes.18 Band 4 Planner assigned accountability for either an individual project or small cluster of projects with appropriate supervision.BIDDING STAGE18 Provide construction advice to key clients and consultants19 Provide planning input into prequalification process20 Produce integrated tender programme and method statement and present proposals to settlement meeting21 Produce schedules, obtain and analyse quotes for all time-related preliminariesKnowledge, Skills & Qualifications:Knowledge:1 Knowledge of relevant industry sector2 Knowledge of various, commonly used forms of construction contract3 Knowledge of construction resource requirements and outputs4 Awareness of a variety of performance measurement techniques, such as Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Analysis and use of Key Performance Indicators5 Knowledge of H&S and environmental issues6 Knowledge of market conditions and lead-in periods7 BIM planning knowledge - Knowledge of and understanding of benefits of BIM planningSkills:1 Adept in use of industry standard Project Management software, such as Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.2 Able to analyse data and produce reports 3 Able to manage meetings, internally, with Supply Chain and clients4 Able to negotiate with Supply Chain members regarding matters such as programme integration, construction innovation and alternative methods.5 Able to analyse programme logic and as-built data and make recommendations regarding entitlement for extensions of time.Qualifications:1 Degree or Higher National Diploma or appropriate experience2 Membership of CIOB or equivalent professional body3 CSCS card holder
