The current available position as Electromechanical Maintenance Technician/Engineer is for the Emirates Air-Line cable car in London, the first urban cable car system in the UK. The system is a Monocable Gondola, crossing the river Thames from Royal Victoria Docks to Greenwich Peninsula. This is a unique opportunity to join London’s newest Transportation system!
Job description:- Operating the ropeway system- Monitoring all aspects of the ropeway from the platform and the control room- Diagnosing mechanical/electrical problems- Repairing and replacing mechanical/electrical components - Performing daily planned maintenance on all components of the Cable Car. - Keeping electrical/mechanical maintenance and inspection logs and reports up-to-date - Greet and assist guests loading and exiting the cabins- Follow all issued operational protocols in order to ensure the safety of all passengers and Emirates Air Line personnel- Full training is provided- Shift pattern is 4 days on, 2 days off alternating shifts (early and late shifts)
Qualifications The position requires an experienced mechanical/electrical engineer including: - Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical work experience- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings- Computer literate- Experienced Electrically Qualified Technician to City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent- Good public relations skills
You will be working as part of a team so a positive attitude and good communication skills are essential.
