Senior In-House Lawyer
MWH is an employee owned global company and is looking for a 5 years' plus PQE Senior In-House lawyer to join the team in Solihull, West Midlands. Reporting into the Director of Risk Management and Legal Services for the EMEA region, you will be required to advise the business on a wide range of subjects including contract law and related commercial matters. The team looks after a wide geographical area, Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. Depending on the individuals capability and experience may be asked to become involved with any of the following: Contract negotiations/reviews.Reviewing legal documents e.g. confidentiality agreements, pre-qualification questionnaires etc. Advising on Bid Reviews and Risk Review Committees. Carry out Mergers and Acquisitions. Intellectual Property. Support and input to MWH's global insurance cover and locally placed policies, giving support and advice. Deal with any claims or litigations; attend mediation and other external meetings as required. Joint ventures. Ensure that appropriate and effective legal advice and services are provided to MWH at all levels and in a timely manner. Effectively manage a caseload of on-going legal issues/cases/queries and ensure that matters are dealt with in line with standards and service level agreements. Ensure that guidance published by MWH is legally accurate and reflects current legislation. This can be achieved by being involved in the drafting of such guidance or through validation or consultation at the draft stage. Liaise with managers and decision makers with regard to on-going legal matters. Contribute to the development of colleagues in MWH by preparing or delivering in-house training as required. Some travel to areas within our region will be necessary. Drafting documents. Advising on the insurance coverage held by the Business. Using the MWH Risk Management and Legal Services team's project management system (Iken). Other tasks as directed which assist the MWH Risk Management and Legal Services team. Developing and maintaining good relationships with people within the Business, gaining the confidence of the Business. Keeping up-to-date with developments in the law, changes to legislation and case law. Conducting legal research. Ensuring that all work complies with MWH systems, policies and procedures. Ensuring that all professional requirements, including the attendance on mandatory courses are completed and properly recorded. We are an equal opportunities employer.
