From day one, they have continued to offer a full range of face-to-face marketing solutions from sound strategy to compelling creative ideas, and of course, constant innovation.They are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join a fast paced Production Services Division in their head office facility. As Design Manager you will be responsible for organising and coordinating distribution of work, providing training tools, and supervising design department employees, and working with key stakeholders inside the organisation.Key responsibilities for this role include:- Schedule work, monitors timesheets and adjusts resources for a Design Department;- Align design talents to appropriate client opportunities to insure project success;- Administers annual performance evaluations to Designers;- Provides an effective coaching environment to build their designers' skills; - Coordinates training and orientation for new employees;- Works with Director of Sales, Operations Manager and Graphics Manager to create a positive working relationship between departments;- Coordinates acquisition and distribution of computer hardware and software through the Design I.S. Technician;- Monitors and enforces company policies and standards;- Communicates with Corporate Design leadership regarding problems, suggestions, support;- Manages design allocations to meet budgetary requirements;- Builds capacity planners and ensures design requests are being responded to in time to meet customer specifications;- Builds a library of designs to create cost leadership and develops innovative solutions to key cost drivers in production;- Meets with clients and internal customers to effectively present design offerings from the organisation;Key experience and education required for this role includes:- Minimum of 5 years experience managing others- Must have extensive organisational skills and good communication skills, reacting appropriately while listening and understanding the views of others;- Experienced in working to deadlines and commitments to ensure the job gets done;- Maintains a high level of interest and enthusiasm for job responsibilities;- Experienced in seeking opportunities to share resources and reduce redundancies across team;- BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience;- 5 years professional graphic/Web design experience required; - Portfolio required; portfolio should demonstrate experience with a variety of media and knowledge of design principles; - Proficiency with design tools including, but not limited to: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat; - Web site user interface design experience preferred.
