Performance Manager

Permanent  for Ahead Partnership in Leeds

Salary: Circa £40,000 p.a. depending on experience

Job Brief

The Performance Manager will lead a large team across multiple sites, and will be responsible for all aspects of customer contract delivery. They will be accountable for establishing and managing; budgets, resources, deliverables, milestones and timescales to ensure that obligations and service levels are met.

This enables schools, colleges and universities to improve outcomes for students through long-term, creative partnerships with business.The programme facilitates the delivery of comprehensive and targeted activities between employers and young people which demonstrate the relevance of learning to future working life, raise careers awareness, and shape the skills and attitudes required of young people by employers.

Following an award from Big Lottery Fund in November 2013, the Make the Grade programme is now expanding across the Leeds City Region over a 3 year period.

Role Outline

The Performance Manager will help drive expansion, managing team commitments and resources as the size of our programme grows to ensure that all customer and stakeholder expectations are met. They will oversee delivery within new new educational partnership relationships, whilst maintaining, broadening and deepening existing relationships. They will work closely with the Business Development Manager to ensure that relationships with clients are nurtured.

They will also support the CEO and wider Senior Management Team in the development and positioning of existing and new propositions.

This position is being funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Performance Manager reports directly to the CEO. They are a key part of the Senior Management Team and will work closely with the Business Development Manager, Proposition Development Manager and Operations & Finance Manager to deliver successful outcomes for Ahead Partnership and its stakeholders.

1. PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leading a growing delivery team, responsible for performance management, coaching and training to ensure that optimal service levels are attained, best practices shared and adopted, and efficiencies introduced. As the team grows responsibility will include recruitment, induction and remote management of staff across multi- site locations.

2. PROCESS RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identifying and implementing efficiencies in the work place, ensuring that processes are documented and recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Championing change initiatives and ensuring that all risks associated with various projects are identified and mitigated.

3. REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide accurate and timely information to the CEO and others which will give the best opportunity to achieve goals.

They will be responsible for timely and accurate reporting of information to external bodies and provision of high standard customer reports.

4. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Performance Manager will ensure that contracts are delivered to budget and target and that Customer Relationship Plans are implemented, driving retention strategies within the business and identifying opportunities to enhance customer experience and deepen relationships.

5. GOVERNANCE AND STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the CEO and other members of Senior Management Team to ensure the vision and objectives are met.

Adhere to all policies and procedures agreed by the Senior Management Team or as set down by legislation.

The Performance will contribute to funding bid processes and the implementation of contract monitoring frameworks.

THE PERSON

Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they have a passion for Ahead Partnership’s work and share Ahead Partnership’s vision for growth and development.

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years industry experience in Business Management, and have a track record of Programme/Project Management that exceeds target. They will have extensive experience in managing a team, including managing growing teams that are based across multiple locations.

Job Location

Leeds and wider city region, with requirement to travel outside the area to support national growth.

References

Subject to satisfactory references and a 6 month probation period, and a clear DBS check.
