Head of IT Services and Operations - Central London - Charity. The National Autistic Society is looking for a Head of IT Services and Operations to deliver a high value central service to all IT service users throughout the organisation.Role description Working for this charity organisation, based in Central London, the Head of IT Services and Operations will be responsible for the following;Manage reliable and secure IT networks, systems, and services (excluding Business Systems Services), identifying problems, and recommending and implementing improvements to meet business needs.Ensure that IT networks, systems and services are monitored and maintained to high levels of quality, as defined within negotiated and agreed service level agreements, parameters or contracts, and in accordance with industry standard best practice.The delivery of a proactive and continuous service improvement culture.Specify requirements for external support, vendor selection and internal support providers to ensure effective delivery of IT services developed on behalf of the business and IT Teams.Manage and prepare operational IT budgets. Contribute extensively to the annual planning and budgetary process for the IT functions and to the business strategy of the organisation.Negotiate and manage contracts with third party suppliers for the provision of outsourced services and IT training.Organise teams to ensure optimum use of resources for the efficient provision of IT support and project delivery.Plan and manage approved IT projects and associated budgets.
Who we're looking for The successful candidate for this role will have very broad knowledge and technical experience of:Managing Windows server and client networks; managing skilled technical and support staff; supporting wide area routed networks; planning and managing complex projects and associated budgets.In depth knowledge of principles of enterprise level: Network security, disaster recovery, data centre management, network management, VPN and backup technologies coupled with the delivery of a proactive service delivery culture within the department and across business stakeholders.A good understanding of Workstation and server hardware/software configuration; TCP/IP local and wide area networking, including Internet connectivity, Microsoft Windows Server networking (including Active Directory); Microsoft Office; Microsoft Exchange ; Microsoft Windows clients.A good working knowledge of: Virtualisation technologies, Citrix XenApp; Microsoft Windows clients and servers, SQL Server; Microsoft SCCM; Web server technologies; VMware, Cloud Technologies and OpportunitiesITIL Manager's Certification in IT Service Management and experience of implementing in a multi-site environment.PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification is desirable.
About our client The National Autistic Society is a widely recognised authority on the continued support and development of individuals with Autism. They are highly committed to providing care and support as well as advice and guidance for families and individuals coping with the condition and expect the same commitment and passion from their staff. The NAS has approximately 70 operational and networked sites around the UK and whilst this role is primarily based out of Central London, it may require travel to regional hubs when appropriate.
What's on offer
Circa £48,501 - £54,000 annual salary (Which includes a market supplement of up to £5,499 per annum) + benefits.
