Serco have a vacancy for a Charge-Hand Ground Radio Technician at RAF Halton. The Charge-Hand is specifically responsible for the planning and co-ordination of the electrical maintenance of Major/Minor electrically operated Ground Support Equipment (GSE), ground use batteries and ground radio equipments held on the Unit in accordance with the relevant air Publications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The planning and co-ordination of the electrical maintenance and rectification of Major/Minor electrically operated GSE, ground use batteries and ground radio equipments held on the Unit in accordance with the relevant publicationsAct as Unit Test and Measuring Equipment ControllerManaging the Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) programThe management of all Management Radio Equipment as detailed in the current signals plan.Maintenance of the Unit Signals Plan, Communication Equipment Facilities Register and the Unit Radiation Hazard Map.Controlling all Modifications and Technical Instructions concerning electrically operated GSE (Major and Minor), batteries and ground radio equipment.The maintenance of all headsets associated with the training taskCarrying out 'on-the-job' training where applicable.

Skills and Experience

Supervisor or equivalent status and have supervisory experience of ground radio activities in industry or the Armed Forces.Full driving licenceGood interpersonal and communication skills required.Flexible working approach.Good IT skills
