· The candidate must have experience of:

o Manufacturing of 22ct Asian gold jewellery;

o Repair of all carat gold and silver jewellery; 

o Wholesale of 22ct Asian gold jewellery;

o Buying scrap gold and silver; and

o Retail of 22ct Asian gold jewellery.

·This is an NQF level 6 or above level position.

·Liaise with directors and staff of Daata Jewellers to identify stock shortage, the designs and styles of jewellery to be bought.

·Decide on whether to purchase from local suppliers, manufactures at the Daata Jewellers manufacturing arm in Pakistan or to import from other locations.

·Invite suppliers to visit the Daata Jewellers business premises with the stock on a regular basis. 

·Determine price, quantity, style and design of jewellery to be bought and sold to the wholesale and retail clients.

·Negotiate and finalise agreement with suppliers.

·Evaluate suppliers stock and visit trade fairs.

·Develop a wholesale and retail sales plan.

·Examine sales figures on a regular basis to identify which product sells faster.

·Plan promotional activities, media advertisement and conduct surveys to collect vital customer data.

·Control the recruitment and training of all sales staff.

·Control recruitment and supervision of technical staff hired for repair work.

·Must be able to speak English and Urdu or Hindi, additional South Asian languages a plus.

Person Specification

Objective:

·Experience in similar role ideally based in a combination of retail and manufacturing environment.

·Proficient user of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

·Knowledge of Excel to be at advanced level.

·Educated to a minimum of National Qualifications Framework Level 6.

Subjective:

·Interest and willingness to develop skills, and keep abreast with advancements in all facets of supply chain.

·Desire for continued professional development and improvement.
