Commissioning Manager, Anaerobic Digestion, up to £50K

Permanent  for Working Solutions in Shropshire

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful company in an expanding sector, based in Shropshire. Reporting to Head of Operations, the Commissioning Manager will take responsibility for the planning and implementation of commissioning across multiple Anaerobic Digestion facilities around the UK.This will include dry testing, wet process commissioning and start-up activities. The Commissioning Manager will ensure the safe, efficient and effective transfer of these schemes from construction to operation and transfer to customers. The role will combine an element of hands-on practical skills and office based planning, coordinating and reporting that requires an experienced engineer with problem solving skills, who does not mind getting their hands dirty.

Main responsibilities of the role:

Managing a team of Commissioning Engineers

Writing and implementing commissioning plans (dry, wet & process commissioning)

Managing & conducting process start up

Analysis of input and output data to identify issues and provide solutions

Optimisation of the anaerobic digestion systems and gas production

Liaise with site assembly team to resolve construction defects

Liaise with suppliers for the commissioning of major items of equipment

Mentoring and training of staff in order to provide training for the customer to be able to take on the plant at the end of commissioning

Identify opportunities to improve the design of future plants or potential innovations

Skills and experience required:

Experience in commissioning AD plants essential

Ideally degree educated in engineering (either process, mechanical or electrical)

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with health and safety standards associated with industry

Good communication and people skills

Able to work extended and/or unsocial hours to fulfil the requirements of the role
