EHS Engineer

Permanent  for E3 Recruitment in West Yorkshire


LOCATION: West Yorkshire

SALARY: up to £27,000 per annum + Benefits

JOB TYPE: Permanent - Fulltime

Working closely on behalf of our client who is a market leader within the manufacture of pressure components into various industries we are now looking to recruit an EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) Engineer to manage, develop and sustain a safety focussed culture and promoting environmental best practice integral with the routine running of the site.

Key responsibilities include:

Conduct BSI/ISO/Lloyds Audits on behalf of the site and businessEnsure systems are established which seek to promote and improve Safety, Health and Environment on site.Ensure systems for auditing and reviewing EHS performance are in place and are being adhered to.Manage EHS systems and oversee current business policy.Ensure risk assessments are in place and develop corrective actions where required.Provide advice and guidance to line managers on all aspects of EHS, where appropriate.Deliver safety training as required and develop others to produce SOPs and training material to 'Best in Class' standard. Develop the site training matrix alongside Department Managers and HR.Assist with managing site waste and continually review to achieve cost reduction and improvements in respect of environmental impacts such as recycling etc.Devise and implement Safety, Environmental and project improvements.Submission of capital expenditure projects in respect of Safety, Health & Environmental improvements.To review all costs in relation to safety and environment issues and reduce where possible.Conduct accident investigations and report accordingly.Produce on a weekly and monthly basis appropriate statistical information for Divisional and Group reporting purposes.Evaluate new process/machines and liaise with the engineering and production departments to design safe working methods.Conduct work place and work station audits.Chair site safety committee meetings.Manage the First Aid across the site to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks.

Candidates Skills and Experience

Experience of conducting audits ISO/BSI & LloydsAbility to implement processes and follow-up procedures based on AuditsCollect Data raised from NCR's implementing corrective actionsProven Experience within an EHS (environmental, health & safety) Engineer rolePrevious experience within engineering environmentNEBOSH Diploma or IOSH equivalent.Experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment essential.
