Business Development Assistant

Permanent  for Citadel Maritime in Bristol

Role: Business Development Assistant

Hours: 40 Hours per week

A little bit about the company:

Matt and Nick started Citadel in late 2011. We worked extensively together in the Royal Marines and both live in Bristol. Citadel provides security teams to protect vessels against Somali Pirates in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden. We work on commercial oil & gas projects to protect exploration operations. We also have a specialised Superyacht practice which supplies security to yachts and high net worth individuals.

Essentially we supply the right men with military backgrounds, training and equipment to protect crews, vessels and other assets at sea. The commercial vessels we protect are quite large, often VLCC’s (Oil Tankers) whose cargo can be worth up to a quarter of a billion dollars as well as the vessel itself which often is worth circa US$90 Million.

Our clients are gloablly located and we work across all timezones. Sales Directors are often away from the office, abroad for extensive periods of time and require back-up in the UK.

We set extremely high standards in the way we transact our business and work hard to ensure our service delivery is flawless.

We are a growing office of seven people but need to recruit two assistants, within different departments. One of these roles is to support our global sales team.

What we need you to do:

Guided and trained by our Commercial Manager, the Business Development Assistant will be working mainly with 3 Sales Directors/Managers to assist them with adminstrative tasks relating to,

Key Tasks,

Preparing quotations Preparing contracts for issue Writing, editing and issuing Proposals as directed by the Sales TeamLiaising with clientsfrom initial inquiry upto contract completionDiary management & travel arrangements of Sales TeamUpdate client details on our CRM system; Salesforce

Secondary Tasks,

Monitor and update sales pipelineOnline research of target industries/clientsCompetitor AnalysisMarketing Material Editing

Who we are looking for:

Someone smart with excellent attention to detail.

The right person may be more suitable for this job if you have ay experience of working in a self-motivated role such as sales, law or in a commercial team where you had set targets and needed to deliver on projects on a regular basis.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

2.2 Degree level or exceptional A-LevelsExperience of working within a commericlal environment Excellent interpersonal skillsConfident telephone mannerA high level of attention to detailAn analytical mindA willingness to learn about a niche industry that is global in scope

Qualifications and Experience Desirable:

Previous experience of working with a CRM system – Salesforce is preferredAny knowledge of contract preparation would be an advantageAny direct sales experienceAny experience of preparing or designing marketing materialAny experience of Social Media use/marketing/promotionLanguages, including Norwegian, Greek, Russian, Japanese, French, Danish or Dutch
