About the role

Balfour Beatty have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Manager (Interim 12 months) to join our Business Services unit to work in Newcastle CSC.

What you'll be doing

As the Communications Manager, you will:Act as support for the Head of Communications to promote and develop Business Services reputation and engagement internally and amongst customers, and build a positive profile for Business Services across Balfour Beatty in the UK, including but not exclusive to: drafting news stories and updates; news bulletins; presentations; planning documents; fact sheets; FAQs; talking points; town halls; employee events and management events, and as required.Show a commitment for developing clear, consistent and easy to understand messaging and customer-focused calls to action across a wide range of topics and deliver targeted communications campaigns to employees and customers, including service delivery, customer experience and other priorities. Ensure appropriate content, tone, brevity, clarity and consistency. Support the maintenance of customer-facing 360 pages and other intranet areas accessible by Balfour Beatty businesses. Develop and maintain Business Services internal and external communications calendar and prepare news stories, developments and actions with clear messages and purpose and distribute via the internal and external communications network.For more information please see the attached Job Description.

You will be:Educated to degree standard, particularly in EnglishExperience of communications in a commercial, customer-facing organisation, preferredStrong writing and oral skills are essential, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of the business' various types of contentA genuine passion for producing effective internal and external communications using high quality written and spoken materialsPeople management experience prefereed
