Senior Internal Auditor

Due to a successful internal promotion, we are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Internal Auditor who will provide a high quality service to the business by taking the lead in planning audit engagements. Reporting to the UK Internal Audit Manager, this role plays a key part in First’s success at maintaining the business’ reputation and will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to join a multi-award winning team within a large FTSE250 company.
About the Role
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are keen to support others. Working as part of the team, you will be responsible for the following duties;Undertaking audit fieldwork, testing and desk-top reviews as required, working either independently or in collaboration with other members of the Internal Audit department, other internal assurance providers and external consultantsDocumenting and obtaining evidence to support all audit issues identified. Agree all issues with relevant business stakeholdersProviding high quality written audit reports to the UK Internal Audit Manager for review within agreed timescalesUndertaking ad hoc audit reviews and fraud investigation work as requested, working either alongside Internal Audit colleagues and/or in collaboration with other assurance functions and external consultantsManaging time and other Internal Audit resources to ensure that assignments are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescalesActively participate in the formulation of the annual Internal Audit Plan through the development and sharing of knowledge of the risks impacting various parts of the businessPro-actively obtain and disseminate relevant industry news within the Internal Audit department
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following skills experience:Recognised accounting qualification, preferably ACA or equivalentExperience of working in a Big 4 or mid-tier accountancy practiceSound understanding of business environment controls and risk based auditing techniquesEffective communication skillsExcellent report writing skillsCompetent in the use of MS Word and MS Excel and good basic IT knowledgeSelf-motivated and able to work independently
A significant amount of UK travel is required (up to 75%), with occasional travel to North America. However, the role is home-based and therefore candidates may be located in or near any major city within the UK.

This role is looking to pay between £45,000 - £55,000 DOE.
