PRINCIPLE SYSETMS ENGINEER – Firmware, FPGASalary: Up to £55,000 depending on experienceLocation: North-West LondonA long established and successful defence engineering company is looking for a Principle Systems Engineer to join their Secure Communications Engineering team in North-West London to work on complex electronic engineering projects. The successful candidate will be required to conduct system engineering for current and future products with an emphasis on firmware or hardware aspects.Grab this chance to work with a company at the forefront of electronic and systems technology !If you are an experienced systems engineer with a full understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and V-Model then you could be a great fir for this role. Focussing mainly on radio frequency systems design and engineering, you will be adept at FPGA, digital and analogue design, have a good understanding of firmware.Required Experiences:* Competent with schematic capture * Familiar with how to operate spectrum analysers, EMC receivers, vector network analysers.* Designs using appropriate proven circuits* Can optimise for low power, low noise, or tight performance across tolerance.* Can quantify at design time expected performance* Uses appropriate simulation and prototyping techniques to ensure confidence in released designs.* Proficient in full life cycle Firmware development.* Generate understandable and unambiguous Firmware requirements based on user and systems level requirements.* Experience in FPGA design ideally using Xilinx and MicroSemi (Actel) FPGAs.* Mixed digital/analogue design experience* Ability to use test and measurement equipment.
