Design Applications Engineer

Permanent  for ATA in Yorkshire

Role: Design Applications Engineer Location: North Yorkshire Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Bonus + Pension + Life Assurance + 25 days holiday The CompanyATA Recruitment is currently working with a leading engineering company that has been established for over 20 years. My client leads the way in providing world class electro-mechanical products for the Oil & Gas and Subsea sectors, and has built a worldwide reputation for supplying high quality engineered products. Over the past 5 years they have organically grown their business by £15million, and moving forward they have ambitious plans to increase this even further by growing organically by 20% year on year. In order to achieve this growth they are now looking to recruit a self-motivated and commercially astute Design Application Engineer to join their team. The role of the Design Applications Engineer will be as follows:1. 65% of your role will be design based - designing electro-mechanical components / systems for O&G and Subsea applications. 2. Review and or create technical specifications. 3. Produce 2D and 3D Drawings using AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks 3D. 4. Conceptual and detailed design of electro-mechanical components / systems. 5. Product 2D assembly, manufacturing and machining drawings. 6. Carry out mechanical calculations such as FEA, pressure, mechanical materials, tensile, stress, shear stress, strain and heat. 7. The other 35% of your time will be spent on applications engineering. 8. Producing manufacturing documents, test documents, O&M manuals (operation and maintenance) and install & data sheets. 9. Produce BOM (bill of materials). 10. You will respond to new technical enquires from customers, produce quotes & commercial proposals and provide technical support and advice. 11. You will also complete contract reviews and receive purchase orders. Experience & background required:1. Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering. 2. 2D or 3D design background of mechanical machined components / systems. 3. You must be commercially astute, highly organised and able to work to strict deadlines.
