Senior Patient Reported Outcomes Scientist

McGinley is working with a large Blue-Chip organisation who are the UK leader in diagnostic solutions and pharmaceuticals. Our client is offering a rewarding new opportunity for a Senior Patient Reported Outcomes Scientist to join their expanding team within the Neuroscience arena.

The successful candidate is being sourced for the following purposes:

As the Senior Patient-Reported Outcomes Scientist, you will be working cross-functionally with Global Development, Global Product Strategy, International Business Teams, Global Health Economics and Affiliates to develop and implement COA strategies.

Your exciting new role will allow you to inform study designs for clinical trial programs to meet the needs of global regulatory agencies and global payers as well as contribute to the implementation and management of registration clinical trials containing COAs including the development of the relevant sections of study concept documents, study protocols, statistical analysis plans, clinical study reports and other development documents.

You will have the chance to provide measurement expertise to the drug program teams in terms of identification of relevant concepts that document 'how patients feel and function' as well as assessment of the adequacy of COA instruments in terms of their content validity and performance in the target population (that could include pediatric populations for instance).

You will also have the opportunity to work with Global Scientific Communications to carry out publication plans to communicate COA-related information to physicians, patients, payers, employers, and policy makers.

You will manage vendors for instrument development (including documentation of performance in target populations) alongside of cultural adaptations and linguistic validation and electronic conversion. You will be responsible for vendor management including scope of work development, contract initiation, and project milestones, timelines, deliverables, and budgets.

Experience, Qualifications and Skill Sets

The ideal applicant will possess the following experience and abilities:

The Senior Patient Reported Outcomes Scientist position requires an advanced degree in psychology, epidemiology, health services research, outcomes research or related disciplines preferred with professional experience in patient-reported outcomes assessment and/or psychometric validation as well as familiarity and experience with the development and implementation of research strategies. You should also have a strong understanding of research methodology and statistics, as well as demonstrated technical writing.

Professional experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is also preferred. In addition, strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to internal audiences are paramount. This role also requires the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, project team environment.
