Senior Health, Safety and Environment Advisor
Reporting To / Role Purpose:
Reporting to: HSEQ & Sustainability Manager
Role Purpose: To provide day to day advice on all health, safety and environment issues contained within the business management system. To develop and deploy company policies and procedures to ensure that all Ringwaylacobs contracts comply with Company requirements and meet their legal objectives. To support HS&E Advisors within their areas of the business.
Responsibilities: (what do you produce or what service you deliver internally or externally to your area)To support the H & S and Environmental Advisors and ensure delivery of consistency on all contractsProvide health, safety and environment advice in relation to strategy, policy and procedures to all levels of management.Prepare Parent Company and Corporate OHSE reports in accordance with the prescribed BMS systemDevelop comprehensive documentation to support the BMS and OHSE Company objectivesCarry out internal audits to BS OHSAS 18001:2007/ISO 14001/ISO 9001Carry out OHSE legal compliance evaluationsIdentify new and/or amended legislation and assess the impact on the organisationRepresent the organisation in liaison with enforcing authoritiesChair OHSE meetingCarry out competencies assessments of organisations & individualsAssist managers in investigating health & safety incidents and near misses
Authorities: (what are you allowed to do that other can not i.e. approval of key document, sign off of works etc)Approve incident investigation reportsApprove OHSE reportsApprove risk assessments, safe systems of work, inductions and other OH&S related documentation.Approve OHSE audit findings and associated corrective / preventative actionsAdvise on suitable training for employeesApprove competency assessment in relation to OHSE

You have to define what the competence (some criteria) are for the aspects of this role that can affects the quality of the delivery of from an activity or way of working / process. These are the criteria against you will ultimately appraise any person in this role against and arrange training as required.)Qualified to NEBOSH diploma level and have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Occupational health & safety post qualification.Accredited audit qualifications & experienced of OHSAS 18001:2007 management systems.NEBOSH Construction CertificateIEMA Diploma
