Our client was established in 1963 and manages in excess of 4,300 properties over a wide geographical area.The Group provides housing for a wide range of customers and in some schemes specialist support is available through partner organisations.

As an Income Specialist you will develop and support a high performing team of engaged and capable Income Officers in order to exceed agreed performance standards; ensuring processes, policies and procedures are maintained by Officers in order to ensure an effective and consistent approach from all colleagues.

Conducting formal and informal account audits in order to identify performance and quality issues, you will provide feedback and guidance to Officers in order to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained; coaching and mentoring Officers to ensure that training needs are met.Providing targeted support to Officers whose performance is failing with the aim of developing a highly effective team and a consistent approach, you must keep under review all cases progressed to court and the relevant outcomes in order to assess Officer performance and ability and review high value terminations to assess ‘what went wrong’.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a background of working in a busy, front line customer service environment with specific experience of arrears prevention and recovery activities in a social housing context.Demonstrating exceptional personal performance standards and the ability to train, mentor, coach, develop and inspire a high performing team, you will have experience of attending court to present arrears cases and of managing partnerships with external partner agencies.

It is essential that you have the ability to instruct, advise and inform customers and colleagues on all aspects of welfare reform and basic debt, welfare and benefit advice; keeping abreast of all changes in legislation and welfare reform in order to communicate and interpret these to your colleagues.
