Electrical Assistant Shift leader

Our mission is to deliver affordable defence capability and support to the armed forces. We enable the training of national security personnel at the Defence Academy, manage the UK Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) as part of a consortium and provide facilities and information systems support to the MoD's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory.

you will be required to:-

Act as deputy to the Shift Team Leader and to be able to fulfil all duties in their absence. The Deputy Shift Leader will primarily operate and oversee all facilities equipment and have a thorough knowledge of the Building Management System (BMS). Work Instructions describe the duties and responsibilities of this position. Operation and monitoring of all facilities plant within the Solid State Phased Array Radar (SSPAR) building via the Facilities Monitoring System (FMS).Acting as Authorised Person (Electrical) for high and low voltage systems. Organising and co-ordinating maintenance activities on all items of plant, including maintaining a computerised record of activities and plant history.Maintaining an up to date chronological log of all equipment rotations, events and occurrences relating to SSPAR facilities.Supervision and management of engineering sub-contractors when required.Ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations and legislation including site-specific procedures.Creating modifying and maintaining work instructions and procedures to ensure they are correct, valid and current.To assist the Technical Operator in maintenance tasks when required.Deputise for the Shift Leader when required.Other duties may be assigned.

Qualified Authorised Person (Electrical) for High and Low voltages.Familiarity with the MAXIMO computerised maintenance management system. Ability to open and close work orders on that system and to access plant history data to investigate failure patternsONC or equivalent in a suitable engineering discipline coupled with related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience of working with building management systemsHVAC experienceIndustrial high voltage electrical systems experience
