Development Manager

Permanent  for Hays in Hastings

I have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Development Manager to join a large Housing Association in the South East of England at their offices in East Sussex.Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and taking responsibility to manage new development schemes in Kent and Sussex for the counties Development Team. The main role will be to deliver a wide variety of individual development projects including the provision of housing and estates regeneration schemes.To be successful in your application you will need to be:- A high achiever working well under pressure- Demonstrate a track record of successfully delivering housing and mixed use schemes on time and to budget- Experience of schemes from different stages from inception to completion- Excellent negotiation and communication skills- Demonstrate how you value and sustain relations with stakeholders- Be innovative in your ideas and methods to make schemes financially viable - Track record with working with schemes appraisal systemsYou will also need to have experience in managing a broad range of schemes within a Housing Association, which includes general needs, shared ownership and supported housing.Ideal candidates will have a qualification in construction, development, project management or planning and at least 5 years experience of managing projects, ideally within an affordable housing environment. It will also be an advantage if you have a sound understanding of land acquisition & transfer, development agreements, building licences & funding & nomination agreements. These skills will need to be supplemented with strong project management skills & the people skills to manage & work with your direct team, contractors, external consultants.
