Business Analyst

Hays Specialist recruitment has been exclusively retained to recruit a Business Analyst for The Pensions Regulator based in Brighton, East Sussex. The successful post holder will ensure that enterprise-wide business change is properly specified and requirements are fully understood by the providers of change in order to be able to deliver the required outcomes.The Pensions Regulator is the UK regulator of work-based pension schemes. Our principal aim is to prevent problems from developing. We use our powers flexibly, reasonably and appropriately, with the aim of putting things right and keeping schemes on the right track for the long term.The responsibilities of the job holder will be to:· Take responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes, through information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organisation change.· Lead business requirements and process work streams to support project deliverables. · Apply and monitor the use of required modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards, giving special consideration to business perspectives.· Conduct investigations at a high level for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies.· Prepare business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks.· Identify stakeholders, their business needs and build trusted relationships· Ensure successful implementation of IT systems, by shaping involvement with user testing and ensuring that users are adequately trained.· Work with colleagues and users to investigate and document business functions, processes, and information flows and data structures, using various methodical and consistent techniques· Prepare and facilitate user meetings and presents issues and solutions orally and visuallyThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following essential skills clearly within their CV:· Significant experience of working with multi-departmental projects· Knowledge of the pensions environment, strategic trends and issues, and an understanding and confidence in TPR values and ways of working· Excellent knowledge of business analyst techniques and approaches, e.g. ISEB, BCS· Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement approaches including Kaizen, Lean etc.· Thorough understanding of business requirement definition, validation and tracing.· Applies appropriate business analysis and project management techniques to respond to business problems and project deliverables. · Some project management knowledge, e.g. Prince II and other relevant IT software applications, MSCRM, SharePoint, Visio.As well as a salary of £42,844 The Pensions Regulator offer:· Civil Service Pension arrangements, which are recognised as some of the best in the pensions world· discretionary bonus arrangements· generous annual leave provision· flexible working arrangements· development opportunities· enhanced parental leave arrangements· a free employee assistance programme · an excellent office location.
