Care and Support Worker

Do you have a desire to create opportunities and positive change?We are currently recruiting a Care and Support Worker to provide personalised care and support services to a diverse range of customers with either a learning / physical disability, or a mental health diagnosis. You will work flexibly to ensure individual needs are met while maximising independence, choice, dignity, privacy and well-being.The successful candidate will be required to support customers living in their own homes with daily living skills, and to encourage customers to become active within the community and to maintain a social network. Customers will require support to maintain tenancies and homes and to manage finances and benefit entitlement. The services also aim to encourage customers to access work, training and other meaningful activities. Other duties will include personal care, administering medication, and updating care and support plans as well as risk assessments. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable people in their own homes and in the community, and will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the customer groups (i.e. learning / physical disabilities and mental health). A willingness to work as part of a team but to also work alone is essential, along with a basic level of IT literacy. The most important skills you can bring to this position are the ability to empathise, to work on your own initiative and to be genuinely passionate and enthusiastic about wanting to help others. Your typical working pattern will include early, daytime, late, weekend and bank holiday shifts (according to a rota). One or two sleep in shifts per month will also be required. It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to drive and have access to transport, as public transport is not widely serviced.
