This long established global organisation is the market leader in the offshore and onshore services. Currently employing over 1800 staff and looking to expand it’s presence in the Aberdeen area. This position will test your knowledge and creativity to the limit as you apply your expertise in creating solutions to the ever demanding Oil and Gas industry. This role is within a multidiscipline engineering design office which keeps the work varied and challenging.
*Compilation and review of project inputs and functional requirements to assess the Client’s requirements and devise engineering solutions. *Influence our clients toward the best solution.*Arrange via internal support or contractors, the preparation of detailed designs to suit, including calculations, reports, manufacturing drawings (both box diagrams and interconnection diagrams), *Prepare project plans, cost time resource estimates and implementation procedures for the job. *Produce & check engineering work packs, risk assessments and other documents as required. Approval will be performed by Senior/Lead Project Engineers.*Comply with the necessary international codes and standards, relevant to both oil, gas and other associated industries, as necessary.*Organize and progress track the manufacture, quality checks and delivery of the required solution ready for mobilization.*Analyze historic and current maintenance data and conclude on action required.*Prepare and check maintenance procedures.*Carry out site surveys, including offshore electrical systems surveys and prepare detailed survey reports.*Maintain client, subcontractor and supplier contact with up to date and correct project reporting.*Prepare detailed engineering reports (FEED submissions, Work packs etc). *Control documentation to company and client standards whilst ensuring consistent checking.*Assist other department personnel in ongoing manufacture and maintenance projects as required.*Assist with the development of project team trainee & graduate personnel and work procedures*Undertake customer and vendor visits in support of specific projects or business development as and when required. Some International travel is expected along with offshore visits*Manage offshore workforce on projects predominantly from onshore. Interact between workforce and client management.*Investigate equipment and component failures.*Write technical reports, manuals and procedures for project and maintenance activities. *Perform risk assessments for field work. *Prepare draft invoices for reimbursable work carried out by engineering department.*Control project costs.*Prepare and co-ordinate of specialist tooling for field operatives. *To log and control by job resource man-hours and assign to client / project accounts as appropriate via timesheet control.*To log, report and control projects in progress costs and man hour utilisation to project managers and clients*Show an awareness of current project costs and scopes and formulate change documentation such as VOR – variation orders.
*Degree in Electrical Engineering, working towards, or already holding, chartered status. *Previous experience Electrical Project Engineer position*Experience with ATEX, CompEx (EX01-04), IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition (BS 7671: 2008)*Cable selection, overcurrent protection *Experience of delivering Client solutions.*Exposure to Oil & Gas, Offshore and Manufacturing environments*Computer Literate in MS Office Packages *Engineering skill associated with large industrial machinery*Capable organisation & communication skills combined with sound engineering knowledge.*Experience with PLC, Transformer Protection, Motor Protection, Earth Fault and Earth Leakage Protection systems an advantage. *Experience of heavy lifting industry with cranes or other equipment.
